Because of Her, We Can
The ANU Indigenous Department is proud to announce our newest campaign for 2018: “Because of her, we can!”
Keeping in line with this year’s National NAIDOC theme, we acknowledge and pay homage to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Aunties, mothers, grandmothers, sisters and Elders who have come before us to forge the path we now walk.
Over the coming weeks, we will be featuring profiles on women we respect, admire and appreciate as a way of bringing awareness to the enormous contribution they have made to our lives, our communities, our country and ultimately, the world.
These women come from all facets of life, but they have all campaigned, fought, enlightened and achieved. Campaigned and fought for change, for the world in which we hope to live some day; enlightened the community about us: the contribution we can make through our culture and knowledge, the struggles we face and progress we’ve made; and achieved: achieved remarkable and astounding things for our communities.
Because of them, we can!
