2018 Indigenous Department Campaigns
In 2021, the Indigenous Department will be running different campaigns. Keep an eye out below for more.
Because of Her, We Can!
Keeping in line with this year’s National NAIDOC theme, we acknowledge and pay homage to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Aunties, mothers, grandmothers, sisters and Elders who have come before us to forge the path we now walk.
Each week we will be showcasing profiles on women we respect, admire and appreciate as a way of bringing awareness to the enormous contribution they have made to our lives, our communities, our country and ultimately, the world.

From Little Things Big Things Grow
A continuation of the major 2017 campaign, From Little Things Big Things Grow  takes specific strength from Vincent Lingiari, a Gurindji man and a stockman at Wave Hill. Lingiari headed the Wave Hill walk off, demanding pay for Aboriginal people’s work and better treatment of their mob. The Wave Hill Walk off shows how one initial act of demanding pay for labour can lead to huge social and political movements of rightful land ownership.
Drawing from this story, and the perseverance and resistance to racism, inequality, and disrespect for land, our From Little Things Big Things Grow campaign hopes to create a more culturally inclusive and respectful ANU.
